THE SAM MOORE ARTISTE BIOGRAPHY

Steadily working his way up the music ladder Sam Moore is fast becoming everyone’s hot tip to officially make a big mark in the UK industry in 2005. Currently under the guidance of UB1 Music on an artist/project development program the UK’s very own vocal heavyweight is soon to release his debut album “Splendid Isolation”.

Sam Moore, who grew up at the tail end of a large Jamaican church-attending family in Manchester, England, was “born in church” with Sunday School and the choir as his hanging suites. And he remains forever grateful for the laid foundation, vocal training and so much more that this strict Church upbringing taught him.

This in turn has spurred a number of musical escapades. Sam’s choir and backing vocal group memberships have allowed him to appear at UK-wide churches, concert halls and venues, including London’s Olympia, Manchester’s MEN Arena and The Apollo Theatre, in addition to television appearances for the BBC and ITV.

He has also had his fair share of song competition appearances including runner-up at the Midlands regional final for the GMTV/The Voice Gospel Challenge in 2001, Best Male runner-up in the National Finals of the Talk Gospel Radio Newcomer Awards in 2002, and was also nominated to receive the Best Male Artist Award at the Gospel Entertainment Music (GEM) Awards in 2003 and 2004.

February 2004 saw Sam’s US debut, where he wowed a collective audience of over 10,000 people in Los Angeles, California when he sang at The West Angeles Cathedral and also at Bishop Noel Jones’, City of Refuge Church to wide and popular acclaim.

Now the UK Gospel industry is starting to notice this star-in-the-making. The limited radio promo release of his single “Breathe” (Autumn 2004) has seen the track gain support from right across the field by the likes of Nikki Tapper (BBC Radio WM), Dulcie Dixon (BBC Radio Leicester) DJ Fitz (BBC Radio 1 Xtra); Yinka A (UK Gospel.com); DJ El Niño (United by One); Grantly (Premier Radio); Roger Moore (Gospel Link Magazine/Divine Intavention); Tony Cummings (Cross Rhythms Magazine/Radio); and Tony Tomlin (New Nation Newspaper). The track was then picked as part of the official GEM Awards Vol. 1 compilation.

In October 2004, Sam performed a live acoustic set at the prestigious “Mailbox” (Birmingham City Centre) for Nikki Tapper’s Gospel Lounge, on BBC Radio WM which attracts 3 million listeners. And the following month he performed live at the UK’s longest running Gospel music showcase – “The Well” in Birmingham. He closed the year out appearing on GOD TV’s “Dream on TV”, which goes out to 125 million viewers worldwide.

This all sets Sam Moore’s sights on the pending release of his debut album “Splendid Isolation”. Riding an enticing wave of Neo-Soul, Jazz and Worship Ballad influences the project has production input from Philadelphia outfit “The 99s” who add that distinct Philly Soul vibe (Floetry/Liz Fields) and sought-after UK production team Spiritled (Four Kornerz/Siani) bringing a more edgy street sound. The album boasts an array of potential lead singles “Breathe”, “Like You” and the next radio promo “Highway” again where he effortlessly bridges the two worlds of contemporary music sounds and traditional Church styles.

Sam acknowledges his faith as a most worthwhile struggle, as he is able to testify on a personal level of what God has done for him. Setting all clichés aside, Sam knows that in serving God, he has made the right decision based on the desire of what he wants and needs to achieve through Christ Jesus. And this comes across in his music as you can hear the satisfaction of a life lived through God, so much so that his vocal resounds the workmanship of Heaven. Sam Moore - an artist that represents passion and wide appeal through his personal music experiences.
